General Questions about pH Balance and pHion

Q. What does pH mean?

pH means potential of Hydrogen and is the measurement of acidity in a solution in correlation with the activity of Hydrogen.

Q. What is the importance of testing your pH and what should your everyday normal person’s pH be?

pH testing is important because it allows an individual to get a numeric representation of the current level of acidification in their body. A healthy average pH reading will range anywhere from 6.75 to 7.25. The optimal pH numeric reading is 7.36.

Q. Can you ever be too alkaline?

Being overly alkaline is abnormal, but possible. If you are overly alkaline this means that your body is producing ammonia which causes Alkalosis.

Q. What is the pH of my blood, skin, stomach, etc…?

This will vary greatly, for example the stomach is extremely acidic with a pH of about a 1 or 2 whereas the skin is only slightly acidic.

Q. Tell me a little about pHion and how long you have been in business?

pHion is a manufacturer and distributor of products geared towards augmenting healthy body chemistry, by creating consistent pH balance. Check out our About Us section for further information.

Apex Wellness Group, LLC is simply our corporate name and pHion is a brand name we operate under.

We are not affiliated with Dr. Robert Young. He works with a similar company called InnerLight. We work with Christopher Vasey who works out of Switzerland. He has overlooked our line of supplements and highly suggests them for use in the US.

Q. Are the products that Christopher Vasey recommends in his book your supplements or only available in Europe?

Christopher Vasey recommends in his book only supplements that are available out of Europe, however he does recommend our product line. Our products have been evaluated and approved by him; however he has his own line of alkalizing supplements in his new book.

After you have both of those items, we also recommend using your favorite search engine as there is a wealth of information out on the Web.

pHion Diagnostic pH Test Strips

Q. How do you use the strips?

Testing Urine:
1. Quickly pass the pH strip in the urine stream.
2. Shake off any excess immediately.
3. Wait 15 seconds and match the colors on the strip to the corresponding color chart.
4. Discard the strip - do not reuse.

Testing Saliva:
1. Gather saliva in your mouth and then swallow.
2. Gather saliva in your mouth again for a period of 15 - 20 seconds. Spit the saliva into a spoon. Dip the pH strip into the spoon for three seconds with the reagent side of the strip facing down.
3. Wait 15 seconds and compare colors on the strip to the corresponding color chart.
4. Enter the pH value into your pH Health Assessment Test chart.
5. Discard the strip - Do not reuse.


Q. What if I am not getting an exact match to the color chart?

If you are not getting an exact match with the color chart this means you are testing in between ranges or you are testing at a more inaccurate time. If your strip is not testing directly to the chart to take the top color and match it with its closest color on the test strip.

Q. Will my urine and saliva tests differ and why would they if they do?

Yes, your urine and saliva tests will be different. The urine test will always be about .50 more acidic than your saliva. The reason for the range difference is because more acids are excreted through the urinary system than they are through the mouth.

Q. Which test is more accurate, saliva or urine?

The urine test is more accurate than the saliva test.

Q. What if my strip doesn’t change from the beginning color, does this mean the strip is defective?

No, you can check the effectiveness of the strip by squirting some Windex® directly onto the strip or by checking your pH directly after swallowing a piece of bread.

Q. What if the test is above the 8.0 range does this mean I need to eat more acidic?

No, the best recommendation is that if you get an abnormal test then you should take a few more tests to make sure this is the range you are accurately testing at. We recommend you test both your urine and your saliva three times a day to get a composite reading. If you seem to keep coming up with over alkaline tests, please contact a physician.

Q. Which side of the strip do I use?

You need to use the side of the strip with the color indicator.

Q. Do these strips work with water or any other foods or chemicals?

These strips do NOT test against water or chemicals. They need to be tested against high ionized solutions. Water is not a high ionized solution and other chemicals may dilute the strip to be unreadable.

Q. When should I be testing and how often? How many pH sticks does one person need?

We recommend testing up to three times a day to get an average range. Once you have figured your average range, you may want to test at least once a day, to make sure you are staying in the optimum range.

Q. Do these test strips expire?

The pH Test Strips have a four year shelf life. The expiration date is printed on the bottle.

pHion Alkaline Water Booster Drops

Q. Why do you recommend using so much water with this supplement, it seems very unlikely someone can drink 3 liters of water a day?

We recommend drinking 3 liters of alkaline water a day in order to properly hydrate the body. This is necessary to balance your pH because alkaline water is the best way to begin to eliminate acids in your body. Since your body is 70% water, it is extremely important to constantly replenish your supply of it. The body loses 2.5 liters of water every day just through normal bodily functions.

Q. Can this product alone dramatically change the range of my pH?

This product can definitely help dramatically if you use it consistently with all of the water that you drink. By drinking 3 liters a day, you can significantly change your pH.

Q. What does this product do and how will it benefit me?

This product structures and alkalizes your water. Alkaline water contains many of the alkalizing minerals that your body needs in order to neutralize excess acids that are stored in extra-cellular fluids, connective fluids, interstitial fluids and tissues. Without an abundant reserve of alkaline minerals, the body's buffering systems become compromised, and acidity results. Drinking a lot of healthy, alkaline water is vital if you plan to alkalize or maintain the proper pH of your body. We recommend using pH drops in distilled water to re-mineralize and structure it.

Q. Does it change the taste and smell of the water?

No, there is no change in smell or taste of the water. However if you use more than the recommended dosage you may have a slight change in taste. Also, it is very likely that you may encounter a slight change in the color and texture of the booster due to all the minerals in the structuring agent. This is completely normal because of an abundance of minerals in the pH structuring agent.

Q. What happens if I get any component of the pHion Alkaline Water Booster Drops in my eye?

Immediately flush with water for at least 15 minutes. If any swelling, bleeding, or irregular secretions occur seek a physician immediately.

Q. What type of water should I use with this supplement?

We recommend using distilled water with the pHion Alkaline Water Booster Drops. However, using the booster in any water will be beneficial.

Q. What makes this better than using a water ionizer?

A water ionizer is an incomplete system. A water ionizer alkalizes water by removing positive ions, but they do not add any additional negative ions or minerals. Therefore, it will produce alkaline water, yet it is a very weak ion solution that does nothing to contribute to more alkaline elements to the body. The pH booster adds 72 ionized minerals as well as raising the pH.

Q. How long will this product last?

The product makes up 15 gallons of water. The pHion Alkaline Water Booster Drops will last one month if an individual takes the daily dosage of 8, 8 oz glasses a day.

Q. Isn’t drinking water at a 9.5 too alkaline, and isn’t this dangerous to drink too alkaline water?

No, if taken as directed, water with a pH of 9.5 will have an oxygenating and balancing effect on the body.

Q. How much do I mix at a time?

The pHion Alkaline Water Booster Drops comes in a box with instructions inside explaining how to treat water in quantities of liters and gallons. However, if you are drinking water in smaller portions simply add an amount of pHion Alkaline Water Booster Drops comparative to how much water you are drinking. For example, in 8 ounces of water a person would put 6 drops of the Ion Booster and 6 drops of the pH Alkaline Water Booster Drops. Whereas in 16 ounces of water a person would use 12 drops of the Ion Booster and 12 drops of the pH Alkaline Water Booster Drops.

WARNING: The pH Alkaline Water Booster Drops contain potassium which is an electrolyte. Use caution when using with any other substance whether prescribed by a doctor or using certain foods or liquids containing potassium as adverse reactions could occur at extremely high amounts. If you experience any symptoms, please discontinue use and consult a physician.

Q. Can I use this product in other liquids other than water?

Yes, you are able to put this in any liquid; however we do recommend water for the optimum results.

Q. Why are there two different bottles?

The step 1 is the ion Booster which structures the water and the step 2 is the pH Alkaline Water Booster Drops which alkalizes the water. You use these two bottles in conjunction to make the alkaline water.

* We do not recommend using the step 2 (alkalizing agent) alone, because it is potassium hydroxide which when undiluted is overly alkaline.

Q. What if the product has crystallized? Is this still safe to drink? (The product has become cloudy with white clumps floating in it)

Yes, the product may crystallize because of the many minerals in the supplement. These minerals may cluster together to make this white looking substance. This does NOT mean that the supplement has gone bad. It is still very safe to use and completely effective.

Q. How often should I be drinking alkaline water?

We recommend drinking alkaline water anytime you are drinking water but at least 8, 8 ounce glasses a day.

Q. Can I use the small bottle (alkalizing agent) alone?

No, we do not recommend using this alone because it is a strong dose of Potassium Hydroxide that can be harmful if not diluted. This should not be taken alone in large quantities or dropped in the mouth.

Q. What is more beneficial in using this product in water than just using baking soda, isn’t it the same thing?

No it is not the same thing. Although baking soda alkalizes the water it’s not recommended to drink over long periods of time. Our supplement pHion Alkaline Water Booster Drops can be used to add essential minerals to water. Whereas baking soda does not maintain such a balance for your body.

Q. Can we purchase the two bottles separately?

Unfortunately, no. They are not labeled for individual sale and we do not sell this product in that manner.

Q. What type of side effects will I experience?

You may experience minor detoxification symptoms during the beginning of usage. You should notice that when alkalized you will begin to have more energy, you’ll sleep better at night, and you should have an increased feeling of overall well being.

This product is made up of 65% organic grasses.

Q. What makes this product better than other greens on the market, how are the ingredients more beneficial?

pHion Alkalizing Green Superfood contains dehydrated juice powders from organic grasses. The powders are made by first juicing the greens, and then dehydrating them in low temperatures in order to preserve the enzymes.

We procure our grasses from a company that has farm grown organic grasses, and then they are juiced at low temperatures, the water is extracted, etc. The product is then sent out for manufacturing.

We recommend drinking 8oz of water with 1tsp of powder and 8oz of water with 3 capsules.

We suggest that you stay on any other vitamins you are taking; our supplements may help with better absorption of what you are taking.

It is not necessary to diet while taking pHion Alkalizing Green Superfood. If you are taking the maximum amount of dosage, you will be receiving benefits without dieting. However to obtain weight loss dietary change may need to occur.

Q. Will this help me lose weight?

It can be helpful in losing weight if you are following a more alkaline based diet along with drinking 3 liters of pHion Alkalizing Green Superfood drink a day.

Alkazyme is made of a patented unique enzyme blend combined with specific minerals that activate each enzyme.

Q. Why do the 5 main minerals in this product help with alkalizing the body?

The 5 main minerals are designed to accelerate the neutralization of acids that are often deeply embedded in the tissues of the body. To neutralize each acid that you want removed from the body; you need a corresponding alkaline substance...an alkaline mineral. The five primary alkaline minerals are Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Manganese and Iron (Manganese and Iron are trace minerals, and are present in pHion Alkaline Minerals in trace amounts).

Q. How often should I be taking pHion Alkaline Minerals, can I ever get too much calcium?

You should take this 1-2 times per day this supplement. This does not put you at risk of getting too much Calcium. Recommended daily allowances are between 1000-1500 milligrams per day, you are not exceeding this with our supplement alone.

Q. Does it have a taste?

It has a light citrus flavor.

No, we do not offer this product in capsules.

Q. Are there any main side effects from this product?

You may experience slight symptoms of detoxification. These symptoms would vary, but they are normal when taking a highly alkaline supplement in an acidic state.

Yes, we get the Calcium and Phosphorous from whey. So therefore, if you are lactose intolerant, you may have a reaction to the pHion Alkaline Minerals.

Yes, as long as you are not taking anything that may hinder the absorption of these minerals.

Q. Why not just use Coral Calcium?

Coral Calcium does not contain the other four primary minerals needed for de-acidification.

Q. How do you calculate the shipping costs for my order?

We charge a single fee based on total amount of the order or on the weight of the shipment depending on which shipping method is chosen. The total shipping charge will be displayed on the last page of the order form, before you submit your order.

Q. How are items of my order shipped?

We use UPS or US Postal Service depending on which shipping option is chosen.

Q. Can I still get the free shipping option to go priority mail?

Unfortunately no, UPS ground is the only option a customer gets when they qualify for free shipping.

Q. Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do ship internationally, however we only have two carrier options in shipping abroad. The options are International Air Parcel and USPS® Global Express.

Q. I have a question about the rules/regulations/restrictions imposed by my country’s Customs Department and/or Government.

Although pHion products are sold internationally, there are instances where some or all of the products are refused entry into certain countries for various reasons. Please check with your local Customs Department to ensure that the product you are purchasing is able to be imported into your country. Typically small purchases for personal use (e.g. 30 Day Supply) are not a problem in most countries but larger purchases for resale can cause certain countries to quarantine or even reject shipments.

Q. What is the difference between International Air Parcel and USPS® Global Express?

The difference in International Air Parcel and USPS® Global Express is based on how long the package takes to arrive and the tracking option. International Air Parcel cannot be tracked and can take anywhere from 2-4 business weeks to arrive. USPS® Global Express can be tracked and takes up to seven business days to arrive. The price is quite different, where the USPS® Global Express usually is twice as much as regular international air mail.

Q. I’m an International Client, why can’t I get free shipping for spending $100.00 on an order?

International Clients have to choose an international shipping option. We can only ship this via International Air Parcel or USPS® Global Express. The only free shipping option is UPS® Ground which is only available in the US.

Q. How long will it take my order to ship from the warehouse?

Orders placed before 11 a.m. MST will ship the same day, however any orders placed thereafter will ship out the following business day. Orders placed over the weekend generally ship on Monday or Tuesday. However, if you order before the weekend, the order may not ship until the following business day.

Q. How will I know if products I have ordered has shipped?

You will be asked to provide your email during the process of placing an order. After you have completed your order an email will be sent and then a follow-on email is sent when the order has shipped.

Q. How can I track my package?

If you have a tracking or delivery confirmation number, you can track your package by clicking the "My Orders" link in Your Account. The shipping method and carrier for your package will be listed in Your Account and in your shipment confirmation e-mail. If you need to contact the carrier, you'll find contact information below.

Note: To speed delivery, shippers may not location-scan all of their shipments. When shipping volume is high, packages are processed in bulk, and the first time a package is scanned may be upon arrival at a regional hub near the destination, or even when the package is delivered. Some shipments, such as Standard International shipments, are not trackable.

Q. I would like to close My Account, how do I do this?

Viewing and Changing Orders

Q. When will my order be processed for shipment?

We process all in stock items immediately after you place your order with us and our fulfillment center typically has them out the door within a 12-48 to hour window depending on what time of day or day in week you place your order with us.

Q. Can I review and change an order online?

You can review the details and status of any order you have placed via Your Account. For orders that have already been shipped, you can confirm the date and method of shipment, view an estimated date of arrival, and get a tracking number, if applicable.

You can make changes to orders that have not yet entered the shipping process.

Please note: Whenever you make a change to an order via Your Account, such as modifying the shipping options, address, or items, our system re-evaluates our inventory to determine the best fulfillment plan for your order given the new information. Therefore, any changes you make may affect the estimated delivery date for your order.

Due to the volume of packages we ship each day, no changes can be made for any order once it has entered the shipping process.

Q. I need to change my shipping and/or billing information for an order, how do I do that?

It's easy to revise shipping and billing information for an order you placed, as long as the order has not yet entered the shipping process. Simply sign in to Your Account, and select the order you want to revise.)

On this page, you can change your shipping address, payment method, shipping method, number of shipments, and billing address by clicking the Change button next to the relevant listing. For security reasons, when you change your shipping address you will need to reenter your credit card number.

If an order is marked as "Shipping Soon," this means it is being prepared for shipment and cannot be changed by you or by our customer service department. If the package will not reach you because of an incorrect address, it will be returned to us as undeliverable and you will need to place a new order.

If you receive a message that we were unable to authorize or charge your credit card, please check with the issuing bank for your card. Credit cards may be declined for a variety of reasons, such as a technical error during processing, and we do not have access to further information.

We will try charging the same card again if you do not submit updated information. Typically, we attempt to charge a credit card daily for one week before canceling your order. To update your credit card details or submit a different payment method, visit Your Account and select the link to "Change payment method."

Q. I need to cancel my order, how do I do that?

Q. I would like to combine two orders into one, how do I do that?

It's easy to combine orders for items sold by pHion, as long as none of the orders have entered the shipping process. If an order is marked as "Shipping Soon," this means it is being prepared for shipment and cannot be changed by you or by our customer service department.

Sign in to Your Account. Once you see a list of orders eligible for combining, click the box to the left of each order you would like to combine. Click the Combine Orders button when you are finished.

If the orders you're combining have different shipping or payment options, we will ask you to confirm the options of the new order.

Please bear in mind that items shown as able to be shipped within 24 hours may enter the shipping process immediately after you place your order, and it may not be possible to combine such items with existing orders.

Returns & Replacements

Q. How do I return an item I have purchased?

No return authorizations. Just give us a call ship it back if you're unsatisfied.

The return must be made within 30 days of receipt and the "return label" must be used. Enclose your order number and indicate the reason you are returning it. This information helps us to prevent any future disappointments.

Upon receipt and inspection of the product, credit will be processed against the credit card used for the purchase. If you paid by check, we will mail you a refund. Please allow 14 days after our receipt for processing your credit or mailing your refund.

Q. Can I get a refund for items I have purchased?

Upon receipt and inspection of the product, we will process the exchange. Depending on how you paid and if the exchange is for less, equal or greater value will determine the time frame for us to complete the processing of the exchange, trust that we will work diligently to get everything resolved as quickly as we can.

Q. How do I pack up and send in my return?

You can pack and send your return to us in just a few simple steps.
  • Pack the items along with the packing slip (the receipt included in the box with your items) securely in a box. You can use the box the items arrived in or another box, if you prefer. If you do not have the packing slip, please Contact Us.
  • Affix the shipping label to the outside of the box.
  • Leave the package for your mail carrier to pick up, or take it to a post office or shipping center.
Please note that return mailing labels obtained from the packing slip are valid for domestic returns only. If you have an International return, please Contact Us.



Q. I lost my Packing Slip what should I do?

If you ordered an item that you want to return but can't find the packing slip you can still return it, just Contact Us and one of our Client Services representatives will walk you through everything.
