Hello, The pH Test Strips have a four year shelf life. You can test your strips by spraying them with windex. If they turn a bluish color they are working correctly. Thanks, pHion Customer Service

Hello, Take the average of the top color and bottom color readings by adding the two numbers together and divide that total by two. We recommend testing 3 times per day and average the 3 readings for that day. This will give you the most accurate pH reading for that day as your pH levels will fluctuate throughout the day. Customers should not base their pH results on just one testing. We also recommend tracking your pH readings for 1-3 weeks to see how your pH changes. Ideal pH for urine or saliva: 6.75-7.25 Thanks, pHion Customer Service

There are no specific directions as to why there are two sensor squares on the test strips. I assume we are reading the lower square. We are comparing the color to which color series on the bottle, upper or lower?

Hello, Please match the strips to the color chart within 15 seconds. If you continue to wait longer than the required time, the test pad will continue to change color. Anything after 15 seconds is not an accurate reading. Color matching will be most accurate using natural light. The dual pad was created so that it's easier to see what color it matches up with. The top color is more accurate, and you should base your reading off of it. The bottom color is there to help determine the level. Thanks, pHion Customer Service

Hello, The level is the pH range that is reflecting on the color chart. For example, 6.0 on top and 6.25 on the bottom. Thanks, pHion Customer Service

Hello, Instructions: Wait an hour after eating or drinking anything other than water before testing either urine or saliva. Completely saturate the end of the test strip with the color indicators for 3 seconds. If the end of the pad is not completely saturated, the reading will not be accurate. Urine - Hold it in the stream or collect is in a cup and dip the strip in the cup. Best to use the second urine of the day because it will give a better indication of overall body pH. Saliva - Gather the saliva in your mouth and then stick the strip in your mouth or gather saliva in a spoon and dip the strip into the spoon. After rinsing out your mouth, you would need to wait approximately 3 minutes before testing. Match the strip to the color chart on the bottle within 15 seconds. Color matching will be most accurate using natural light. If your not getting an exact match with the color chart, this means you are testing in between ranges or your are testing at a more inaccurate time. In this case, use the lower pH number. (Example: The top color is matching between 5.75 and 6.0. You would then use 5.75 as your reading for the top color pad.) Take the average of the top color and bottom color readings by adding the two numbers together and divide that total by two. Thanks, pHion Customer Service

The test strip did not match with the scale. How do I figure out. For example the top square is match with top 4.5 on the scale, the bottom square is match with 8.5 on the scale. so what is the reading, I repeat the test and it is the same.with the first test.

Hello, Our Diagnostic Test Strips can only be used to test the urine or saliva pH levels. If you would like to test water, I recommend purchasing the water test strips from a local pet or pool store. Thanks, pHion Customer Support
